An excellent recent form with rich chocolate brown foliage, glossy on young leaves. Upright stems of bright pink flowers in late spring to 60cm. Good soil.

Geranium maculatum comes from the north east USA and neighbouring Canada where it grows in deciduous woodland that can be quite damp in winter and gradually dries out in summer.  Obviously the closer you can get to those conditions the easier it is to grow in the garden.  Damp winter and dry summer under deciduous trees or shrubs!
