(Geranium collinum x Geranium clarkei ‘Kashmir White’)
Hybrid from Cambridge University Botanic Garden flowers from July to autumn. Pointed white petals are heavily veined pinkish mauve. 45cm mound in sun. Useful late white flower.
There aren't many long-flowering white cranesbills and 'Summer Cloud' is the most long-flowered and hardiest in our experience. The flowers are similar to Geranium collinum, open, pointed petals and held on fairly long, slightyl straggling stems but gain their mauve veins from Geranium clarkei 'Kashmir White'. 'Summer Cloud' can be grown in an open position with no neighbours of any height and it will make a lowish clump, but it's probably best used in with taller plants and then the flower stems will extend and the "cloud" of flowers will appear amongst it's neighbours over an area of up to 1.8m!
Because of the habit and parentage Geranium 'Summer Cloud' would also be suitable for naturalising in less formal areas. Very hardy, tough and easy.
