Rarely seen in gardens but we've found that this species is a good, tough and reliable border plant with a good display of flowers and excellent autumn colour. Grown with Geranium sanguineum cultivars in a partly shaded border it provides two seasons of interest; May-June for flowers, and August-October for foliage.
From Japan, Korea and China - one of a few species of Amsonia that doesn't grow in north America.
Syn. Amsonia sinensis.
