Borderline hardy species with glowing orange flowers on low arching plants. Often used in baskets and containers but worth trying in a sheltered garden. 30cm.

The best location to try Begonia sutherlandii in the garden would be in a warm spot against a wall where it will get some overhead protection overwinter to prevent waterlogging.  As with many almost hardy plants it is wet that will cause the problem rather than cold.

From southern and eastern Africa.
