An attractive patch forming species with very upright fluffy flowers and long lasting seedheads to 1.5m or so. Most soils in sun or light shade. Native.

A very hardy and tough species ideal for the more difficult wilder parts of a garden where it gives a long season of interest with minimal effort.  Golden flowers flushed purplish when new soon in early summer give way to the buff seedheads that stand out well against darker backgrounds until late winter.

Native to the UK and most of Europe into Asia and Africa.
