Amazing long tapers of buff flowers on wiry stems to 2.4m from midsummer till the first frosts.  Well drained soil in full sun or grow in a large pot and take in for the winter in cold areas.

Pennisetum macrourum is one of those plants that really needs the mythical "well drained but moisture retentive" soil.  ie. that there is plenty of moisture available but that it never sits wet.

From southern Africa and known in cultivation for over 100 years.
