Upright stems with whorls of narrow leaves to 90cm. The clusters of narrow flowers appear in the leaf axils higher up the stems in late spring. Good, woodsy, soil in shade. Less attractive to sawfly.

Very pretty, elegant species suited to any decent soil in mostly shade.  A good successor to earlier spring woodlanders like primula and snowdrops.

Whorled Solomon's Seal. Native to much of Europe and also the Far East.
