Very different to most species with many clear yellow flowers in hefty clusters on top of branched stems to 40-50cm through summer. Quite leafy. Average soil in sun and shelter.
This large Sisyrinchium species is largely hardy in the UK but would be a bit sensitive to frost pockets, it does however make a stunning pot plant if you have somewhere to move it to in the winter. Perfect for colder spots!
From central South America, described in the 18th centuary but seemingly only introduced to cultivation in the UK in the 1990s.
