Spreading clumps of wand-like stems with incised dark green leaves topped with generous heads of very pale lavender blue flowers in summer. Average soil in sun. 45cm.
An excellent plant for growing in front of large autumn grasses and in combination with other flowering perennials like Rudbeckia and the michaelmas daisy type former Asters now known as Symphyotrichum.
Not too fussy as to soil or position though it's best in sun and not too dry or wet.
From Asia, including China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and usually found in mountainous areas between 1500-2500m.
