A brilliant new variegated selection from Belgium. Crisp white striped foliage and arching flowers to 1.2m. Good soil in full sun, or with the variegated leaves this could be good in a big pot.
After many years looking for a variegated selection of Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea two came our way at the same time! (The other isn't ready yet!)
'Mostenveld' is a neat grower, the variegated foliage seemingly producing a slower and smaller clump than you would normally expect but it is vigorous enough to grow well.
From Jan Spruyt, c. 2014.
Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea 'Golden Chimes'£6.50
A new form with open flower heads on arching stems that turn a brilliant golden yellow in autumn. Best in a good soil in full sun. 2m.
Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea 'Karl Foerster'£7.20
One of the taller forms with purple tinted, green flowers to 2.2m in late summer. Bright yellow autumn stems.
Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea 'Windsaule'£7.20
Clumps of mid green leaves to 50cm produce tall more or less upright stems topped with greenish brown flowers in mid summer to 2.4m. The heads more open than the better known 'Windspiel'. Good soil, sun.
