BSWJ2408 A superior collection with striking spikes of rich red bracts protecting the buds of attractive yellow flowers in late summer and autumn. Good soil in part shade. 80cm.
'Bleddyn's Beacon' is a good robust variety (possibly even better than 'Robusta') but is not quick to increase - once you've got it though it will be tough. As with other varieties, mulch with bark or similar in autumn to protect the rhizomes from excessive cold.
Collected in Darjeeling in northern India.
