Strongly scented white flowers in good racemes, May and June, on a vigorous shrub to 3-4m. The calyx is tinted purplish bronze. An attractive and very hardy deciduous shrub from China and Myanmar.

Our original plant was grown from seed collected by Eric Hammond for Heronswood (Dan Hinkly and Robert Jones) in China  in the late 1990s and we offer second generation seedlings from this.  The original plant on the nursery is now c. 4m but we have never really pruned it - it is a fairly narrow growing plant so doesn't take up too much space!

For good soil in sun.
