An elegant Lilac with an upright habit and long tapering racemes of pinkish lilac flowers in summer with a good strong but delicate scent. 2.5m. Best in good soil in sun or light shade.
Syringa tomentella ssp. sweginzowii is a fairly large deciduous shrub but a neat and tidy grower that won't take up too much space in the garden. My favourite species.
From China, first collected by Ernest Wilson for Veitch's in Szechuan, 1904.
