An excellent low growing Solomon's Seal with crisp green foliage and bright cream and jade green flared flowers in spring. Top plant. 30cm. Good soil in shade.

This collection of Polygonatum orientale is one of those plants that always catches your eye amongst others of its kind.  It has a particular sheen to the relatively long leaves on attractively arching stems and produces a good display of the neatly two-toned flowers from April to early June

I have finally found out the origin of F&S - collected at 1800m in the Elburz Mountains in Iran in October 1977 by Paul Furse and Patrick Synge.
