A taller more elegant form with clear mid-blue flowers often with a second row of sepals. Decent soil in sun or light shade. 60cm.
'Hakone Blue' is often described simply as "double" (even sold as 'Hakone Double Blue') but it usually starts life as a single flower developing the extra layer(s) after two or three years. Some plants remain single and we actually prefer these!
It's taller willowy habit gives a more natural look and it mixes well with grasses like Nasella and the smaller Stipa.
Balloon Flower, from east Asia.
