Including some very popular plants many Luzula are native to the UK so well suited to our climate and the native species are easy to grow. Some of the species from other parts of the world need more specific conditions.
The most commonly asked for woodrush is the pretty Luzula nivea, clump forming, long lived and tolerant of a range of sites it produces showy white flowers in spring and early summer.
The most variety comes from our native British and European Luzula sylvatica with it's low patches of broader leaves and heads of golden brown flowers. There are many selections with different leaf shapes, colours and variegations.
