Patches of upright stems well clothed with fresh green leaves and greenish white flowers in late spring. A fresh looking plant for shade, ordinary soil. Deciduous. 45cm.

Plants like Disporum viridescens can be completely overlooked as they are basically just green - but their subtle shades are essential for helping the brighter plants look their best.

If you have a place in the garden under deciduous woody plants that gets damp in winter and is dry in summer then this is an ideal plant to give a try.  In good soil it will make quite a patch, spreading to fill the space but in poorer or drier places it will be much slower.

Asian Fairy Bells.  From China, Japan, Korea and far eastern Russia.
